2014 Recap - What a year to remember!
While we started 2014 in the Dominican Republic we looked out into the rising sun that January morning knowing it was going to be a big year for us. A year full of adventure and change. A year full of fun. So a quick summary of 2014....
- Stacey started her new job with lululemon athletica in January while working from home in Portland, Oregon. She had many trips up to to Vancouver, BC as we waited for approval to move from the government.
- In May we moved north to Vancouver, BC (O Canada!) where we found a great 2 bedroom apartment a few blocks from Stacey's office and just blocks from the beach. Graeme's parents were a huge help as they arrived hours after the movers finished unloading and spent a week helping us unpack.
- The year consisted of many flights down to Los Angeles to visit our family, friends and plan the wedding.
- We kept our tradition of attending music festivals - and celebrated Graeme's birthday at the Vancouver Folk Music Festival.
- And the biggest event of the year happened in October - our wedding in Ojai, California. It feels like a dream to both of us and was the greatest weekend of our lives. The weekend was full of love, community and friendship. There are so many people to thank for making it special - most importantly our parents and family as we could not have made the weekend a representation of our love without their support. A big thank you to all of our friends and family who traveled from the corners of the globe to be with us that weekend (and the love from our friends who could not be with us). Our good friend Karen Oliver and her team for making sure it ran so smoothly. Our friends and photographers - Chris and Jenn - who captured the day with breathtaking images. The Honorable Jules Bailey who wrote one of the most beautiful wedding ceremonies possible (and yes, we are biased). And then there is the amazing Cindy Alexander - we were honoured to have Cindy perform a few of her songs that night - including one of our favourite songs "Wonderful" for our first dance.
- We had 3 different US Thanksgiving celebrations (in 2 different countries) and our first set of Canadian holidays.
- Had the pleasure of sharing our new city with our sisters and some family over the past few months.
As we look back on 2014 it was a year of love, gratitude and adventure. As 2015 gears up we start our adventures with a trip to Victoria, BC...we are excited for all this year has to offer.
